Recruitment and Induction

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Significant time and money is spent trying to recruit the right person. Add to this the salary of the person you employ and it does not make good business sense to settle for anything except the best your business can afford.

Getting the right person for the job is critical and not something that just "happens" by advertising in the local paper and hoping for the best. Paying a salary is an investment by the business and management should ensure they are investing wisely.

When an employee starts work in a business they should undergo a basic induction to ensure they are provided with essential information about the business and to fulfill the company's legal obligations.

The HR services we provide in this area include -

  • Assistance in the preparation of an accurate job description and person specification
  • Advice on the appropriate method of advertising and assistance in preparing an advert
  • Advice on how to select the best candidates (i.e. short-listing and interviewing skills)
  • The provision of other selection methods such as assessment centres, psychometric testing, competency based selection
  • Training for line managers in interviewing skills and awareness of areas of employment law that impact on recruitment and selection (e.g. equal opportunities/age discrimination)
  • Assistance with implementation of an effective induction programme

We can provide assistance with getting the process underway, or we can manage the whole process on the behalf of the business.
